Santosh Sivan and Prithviraj’s production company ‘August Cinema’, launched their first film Urumi a tri-lingual period film in Malayalam, Tamil & English.
Mammootty, was the chief guest at the function held at Dream Hotel in Kochi on Friday, July 16, the last day of Mithunam, before the inauspicious month of Karkkkadakam starts. Mammookka lighted the traditional lamp, in the presence of Prithvi’s mom Malika Sukumaran.
Mammootty was all praise for “his younger brother of Pokkiri Raja” andshowered praises on him. Director Renjith who discovered Prithviraj in his speech said: “Prithviraj had an air ticket in his pocket when we started Nandanam, as he wanted to go back to Australia to continue his studies. However after the release, this handsome dude straight away walked into the heart's of Malayalee girls!”
Prithviraj who is today the fastest rising star in Malayalam cinema said : “Through Urumi we are trying to uplift Malayalam cinema to the international level." Santosh Sivan said that the film will be shot in Kerala and later in the forest areas of Malshej Ghat, Maharashtra, where Santosh and Prithviraj shot the climax of Raavanan.
The cream among Malayalam directors Joshy, Renjith, Blessy, Siby Malayil, Kamal, Lenin Rajendran, Shaji Kailas, Lal, Viji Thampy,Renji Panikkar, producers Gokulam Gopalan, Liberty Basheer, actors Manian Pillai Raju, Indrajith, KPAC Lalitha and Kaviyoor Ponamma were present to wish Prithviraj and Santosh.
